Interior design

The House Collective is a residential interior design studio based in Harrogate. We use our core design values, A.D.A (Authenticity, Discerning and Attitude) and marry them with the client’s lifestyle and vision, to create and deliver a scheme which is a true reflection of a successful design partnership between all parties.

The Process

  • 1Let’s talk! We offer a free 45 minute consultation where we can learn about each other, and you can decide if we are the right interior designers for you. We begin by meeting you to understand your needs, your lifestyle and what you love and loathe. We will ask you questions about the project itself…what you want to achieve and your vision. You can then learn about our process, the fees for our services, and ask us any questions.
  • 2Once we have a clear understanding of your expectations and requirements, we will most likely start by visiting your home (if we haven’t already). We will take measurements of room sizes and photo references. This will enable us to produce conceptual mood boards and space plans, to provide you with clarity and understanding. This allows you to see (and touch) our design intentions for the overall scheme.
  • 3 Following a review, we begin creating your design presentation package. This will showcase any finishes, paint colours, 2D plans and elevations, along with any supporting drawings on your scheme. If requested, part of the design presentation pack will include 3D visuals and the VR experience!
  • 4 Following the design presentation, we will put the finishing touches together in a design document. This may include drawings and specifications for all finishes, furniture, joinery, electrics, lighting, decoration and any additional information which is required for you. At this point, we will provide a quotation for the items we can supply to you as part of the project.
  • 5 Once you have confirmed and signed the design document, we work alongside the appropriate contractors, architects and craftsmen to bring the vision into reality. We manage any required works, handle deliveries and liaise with all parties, to create a seamless process.
  • 6We are finally there…We personally visit your home to add all the final touches. This process ensures that it feels and looks like the vision you always wanted. For example, adding textiles, houseplants, artwork and decorative accessories (should these not already be specified). Before completion of the project, we can work with you to rectify any snagging issues. After all, we want to see your dream interior become a reality.

3D visualisation

Our in-house team are able to create photorealistic renders of your scheme; this allows us to clearly communicate the design before any work on your home starts.
Once we have modelled your space in 3D, we can refine and tweak the design to ensure it is perfect. This includes colours, finishes, lighting, furniture and more.
As this is done in-house, we can react quickly to any changes and constantly review the design along the way.
We can even provide you with a virtual reality headset which immerses you directly into the room. Get in touch for more details on our full VR experience.

Bespoke Joinery

“Off the shelf” products sometimes aren’t quite right. This is where we can draw on our commercial experience, and we excel in providing bespoke joinery and furniture solutions to ensure we are making the best possible use of space, or creating a unique piece.
Our in-house designers can provide technical drawings and visuals to communicate any bespoke item/s. Over the years, we have established relationships with highly skilled craftsmen and joinery companies; we work with them to achieve exactly what you want.

Furniture

Our passion for interior design means we are constantly reviewing the products available to us. We pride ourselves on not being pigeonholed to one aesthetic nor to a limited number of suppliers and manufacturers.
We believe in searching for the best furniture solution for you and your lifestyle.
We have well established relationships and connections with a large proportion of the furniture industry, yet no showroom, which means we can often provide competitive prices.
